OVERVIEW
As the U.S. withdraws from Afghanistan, and as attacks against Afghan nationals who cooperated with the U.S. military rise exponentially, the Biden administration must act swiftly to ensure all our Afghan allies are brought to safety.
There are roughly 18,000 Afghans, along with over 50,000 of their immediate family members, currently in the Special Immigrant Visa process. Now, we must fight to ensure that every last one of our allies is brought to safety in U.S. territory - where they will have access to the U.S. immigration system and be sheltered from Taliban violence.
As of August 11, around 1,200 SIV recipients have been airlifted to Fort Lee, in Virginia. Nearly 80,000 of our Afghan allies are still in danger in Afghanistan. We must evacuate ALL of our Afghan allies.
KEY MESSAGES
SPEED: Time is of the essence. The Biden administration must act now, or they’ll allow thousands of our allies to be murdered by the Taliban.
HONOR: The U.S. promised our Afghan allies that we would bring them to safety. Now, it’s time to honor our promise.
GUAM: Afghans should be brought to U.S. territory where they can access the immigration system, not sent to a third country where they may not have asylum and refugee protections.
PLAN: It is essential that the Biden administration lay out a clear plan to #SaveOurAllies. The plan must be operationalized immediately, resources increased and allocated across agencies, in order to make that plan a reality. We need more than just visas - both Special Immigrant Visas and P2 visas are not enough. A visa alone doesn’t bring people to safety.

General, Standalone Posts on Afghanistan Withdrawal and Evacuation
Happy Thursday! ☀️ You know what that means: 🗣️ @POTUS, it's time to evacuate ALL our #Afghan allies and #GetThemToGuam before it's too late. Our allies are running out of hope, and so are we. #EvacuateNow #TakeThemToo #EvacuateOurAllies #SaveOurAllies
1200 #Afghan SIV recipients have been brought to the US. @POTUS, where are the rest of the more than 80,000 allies who need our protection? The Biden administration must #KeepOurPromise and bring ALL of these Afghans to safety in the U.S. before troops withdraw. #EvacuateNow
Tens of thousands of Afghans who worked for the U.S. as translators, engineers, security guards, embassy clerks, and cultural advisors remain in danger in Afghanistan. Our troops are leaving, and #Afghans are losing hope. @POTUS must #EvacuateNow and #SaveOurAllies.
Every single one of the Afghans who risked their lives to support U.S. forces deserves to be brought to safety in U.S. territory. Every. Single. One. @POTUS, it’s time to #SaveOurAllies.
To live up to our promise to leave no man, woman, or child behind, we must evacuate all of our Afghan allies to U.S. territory. Anything less risks the lives of those who risked everything to support U.S. troops. We have a plan to #SaveOurAllies. Now, we need @POTUS to deliver. evacuateourallies.org
Step 1: Bring 1200 Afghan allies & their families to safety at Fort Lee, VA.
Step 2: Bring the remaining tens of thousands of Afghans & their families to safety in U.S. territory. To keep our promise to our allies, we must evacuate them to U.S. territory NOW. #SaveOurAllies
.@POTUS: Bringing some of our Afghan allies to safety in the U.S. - and leaving others behind - is an abdication of our promise to those who risked their lives to support our troops. To keep our promise, we must save them all. #EvacuateOurAllies #SaveOurAllies #GetThemToGuam
1200 of our #Afghan allies have arrived in U.S. territory. We will not stop until the remaining 80,000 are brought to safety. Every Afghan who supported U.S. troops in Afghanistan deserves the same treatment. @POTUS must #EvacuateOurAllies to safety in U.S. territory.
200 is not enough. 2,000 is not enough. We must bring ALL of our Afghan allies to safety in U.S. territory. #EvacuateOurAllies #SaveOurAllies #GetThemToGuam
Veterans. Faith Leaders. National Security Experts. Humanitarian Organizations. International NGOs. We all agree that the United States must swiftly devise an evacuation strategy for the Afghan nationals & their family members who have risked their lives to serve alongside U.S. forces in Afghanistan. Now, their lives are at risk again after giving us protection. We need to evacuate our allies now. We cannot wait. We must #GetThemToGuam.

Veteran Themed Posts:
We’ve always depended on local allies in Afghanistan. They patrolled with us on missions, worked beside us on bases, and saved our lives in firefights. @POTUS, evacuate the 18K Afghans & their families who are still in Afghanistan & targeted because they helped us. #TakeThemToo
The world will remember if the U.S. abandons tens of thousands of our allies to be killed by the Taliban. @POTUS has said that “speed is safety” when it comes to getting Americans out of Afghanistan, that is no less true for Afghan allies. We must #TakeThemToo and #EvacuateNow.
If we abandon the #Afghans who saved so many American lives in combat zones, we will fight tomorrow’s wars alone. If you care about veterans, you care about saving our Afghan allies. For vets, this is both a matter of honor and national security. #GetThemToGuam #EvacuateNow
Refugee Themed Posts:
We must evacuate our #Afghan allies immediately. Any less and anywhere beyond U.S. soil only intensifies the security and humanitarian risks for both our nation and our allies. Let’s be clear; we have evacuated U.S. wartime allies in the past, and we can do it again. #EvacuateNow
18,000 people who protected the lives of our troops are now at risk of losing their own lives. Tell @POTUS to #SaveOurAllies before we abandon them in Afghanistan. Check out more here 👇 https://www.evacuateourallies.org/
Evacuating our #Afghan allies to a third country outside of the United States risks creating a refugee crisis, where Afghan allies could wait for DECADES in refugee camps before being resettled, creating a humanitarian disaster. The only option is to #GetThemToGuam.
If we do not #EvacuateOurAllies, the U.S. is shirking its moral responsibilities and effectively undercutting the due process and protection options available to #Afghan refugees. We have a moral obligation to help. Check out more talking points here ⤵️ https://bit.ly/AfghanSIVTalkers

It is more than just the honorable thing to #KeepOurPromises and #EvacuateNow, it’s our moral duty. Download LIRS’ interfaith toolkit to learn more about the urgent need to take action and how: https://www.tfaforms.com/4909229
Faithful friends are beyond price: no amount can balance their worth. Faithful friends are life-saving medicine; and those who fear the Lord will find them. Sirach 6:14–16
We placed our faith in our Afghan allies, and they placed their faith in us. We cannot let them down. #EvacuateNow
God, you are the refuge and strength of all who look to you for help. Surround the Afghan allies of the US military with your presence as their lives are now in danger. As the US leaves Afghanistan, may the commitment that we made to protect these vulnerable people be honored so that hope can come out of despair and light out of darkness. Lord, in your mercy—Hear our prayer.
As people of faith, our concern stems from shared values rooted in our sacred texts that remind us to love our neighbor and welcome the sojourner among us. As Leviticus 19:34 (CE) reminds us: “Any immigrant who lives with you must be treated as if they were one of your citizens. You must love them as yourself, because you were immigrants in the land of Egypt.”
I’m joining @LIRSorg and partners to advocate for the swift and secure evacuation of over 18,000 Afghans in the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) program along with their estimated 53,000 family members. These allies risked their lives to protect Americans, will you join us in advocating for their safety?
